Anyone else with IMBADHD?

Of course, that stands for "Internet Message Board Attention Deficit Disorder". I find that if the post is lengthy, or includes some thought-provoking youtube video, or anything else that will require more than a short glance, view, or once-over makes me groan and move on.

I'm sure I miss some funny, thought-provoking, or otherwise useful stuff, but I just feel like spending that much time on a post detracts from my message board experience. :dunno:

Hey, this post is getting kind of long. :hatsoff:

H

I skim. If it looks book length, I usually skip it.

Same here paragraph or two is usually enough for anything.Youtube if its over 3 min it better be good the first minute lol.

Yeah I skip right over the long posts....that means I have never read a single one of Fox's lengthy novel....um I mean posts! :D

Hey, now, in defense of us folks who *ENJOY* writing:

blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah
blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah
blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah
blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah
blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah
blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah ... blah

Seriously - given the nature of some of the subject matter we have on this Board, sometimes long posts are necessary and can be quite edifying and informative. I, for one, am quite "guilty" of long posts ... but I don't hear but a few wayward, misbegotten souls complaining about the length of my posts / replies, either.

To each his own. Reading every single post isn't a requirement of being a member of this Forum. 9 times out of 10, I actually skip the idiotic comments (i.e., 'that bitch is fuckin' hot', 'yo, bitch ... cum suck my big, fat nuts'.) I find comments like THOSE to be infinitely more irritating than the long posts.

At least that's how I see it, guys and gals. :2 cents::hatsoff:

For me it depends on what it's about and who's writing it. Sometimes I will read the whole thing no matter the length. Sometimes if it's a topic I don't really care about much I will skip it. There has been more than a few post from the Prof or ********** that I got about three sentences into and then just said, "awe screw it" and moved on. I'm also the type of person that will write a long one once in a while. :1orglaugh

I am an incredibly slow reader, therefore if I took the time to read all the lengthy posts, I would run out of time and never be able to make any posts and share my thoughts with the rest of you

Depends on the subject.

Several paragraphs on the subject of naked women, I'll happily endure it.

Several paragraphs on the subject of bendy penises, crushes on wormates, George Bush's latest ailment or similar 'crap'..I'll happily pass.

I pretty much ignore all the links to articles posted. I really don't care to read them most of the time. And youtube links I really don't bother with either. Sometimes there's something of interest there, but I've found that I ignore about 90 % of the youtube videos that people link to.

As for long posts, they can sometimes be too much. It's often the overly political discussions that I don't bother reading properly, but I still look through them to see if people are following the rules. Sometimes I take part in them myself though, but I can't really remember when I last did that.

But there are some long posts that I'll happily read. Paticularly threads about people's interest in movies, books, or similar hobbies. I find that a lot more interested and less frustrating to read through.

I GENERALLY skip over topics with multiple pages. It just seems rude to butt-into a topic with 3 or more pages to add your opinion so late in the game.

But in case the topic title actually interests me.. I'll let loose a heavy sigh and start in on page 1. G_d forbid someone is spouting intellectual AND has diarrhea of the keyboard. A post needs to be balanced so that it isnt excessively long.. nor overly technical as many people might not want to read an extra three paragraphs of why Matsushita's DVD burner doesnt provide dual layer capabilities in the burning arena despite having a lengthy feature list and massive speed rating in the testing which might lead some to wonder if it was perhaps not the wisest thing to burn at 120x.. we'll test for jitter and errors tomorrow. Dont move the mouse or you'll have a MASSIVE underrun. Or some such.

With that said.. I'm sure I probably type too much anyway but as the saying goes.. do as I say, not as I do.

I agree, but I may be interested in finding out what wormate crushing is.

I feel this way as well. Depending on the poster, I may sometimes read through anything. It mostly has to do with two things: 1. Will people be interested in what I add to this thread? 2.Will this topic interest me? If it fits either condition, I heartily delve in.:dunno:

Well, I could tell you, but it would require several long paragraphs to explain...I don't think I could stretch it to that much actually.

I read both, depends. Political manifestos and the long detailed sex experience ones I skip. I don't care to read long drawn out bs on politics, just the facts mamn, thank you. As for detailed sex experiences, I don't care to know the long graphic details of anyone's back seat fling in high school with the girl with the smelly muff. Or if anyone else ever had the same enlightening experience.

I write lengthy at times, yes I do and to those who don't read my efforts I say. lol

I only do it when the topic requires it though, maybe with a few exceptions but not many. I'm just not equipped for "Oh yeah she's hot." --- "Leave the bitch." or "Go ahead, just kill your parents and get the money." type answers.

*leaves thread wondering how many will skip over this post, but really not caring lol*
