The music to "Smile" was written by Charlie Chaplin in 1936. Lyrics were added by John Turner and Geoffrey Parsons in 1954 and the song version was first recorded by Nat King Cole in the same year. "Smile" was the song I sang in the Battle Round of "The Voice Kids UK" 2018.

Lucy had mentioned in an interview a few years ago that the girls grew up singing together with Mom. Now we get to fully hear how magical the sonic environment of that household truly was. The apples didn't fall far from the tree!

unfortunately, two days after this beautiful classic was released, my precious wife of 57 years had an accident and now nine days later I am at home watching her leave me and this world. Your outstanding interpretation of this song has given me solace and the fortitude to push on and take care of her in her last days. I am forever grateful to you ladies for this special song.

My wife to be and I danced to this song in 1955. 68 years later the Thomas girls brought tears of joy to my eyes as I recalled the smiles of my late wife of 63 years.

Beautifully said but a "duet" is two singing together, a "trio" is three together, four would be a quartet, five a quintet and so on. Louise, Lucy and Martha are a "trio" and what a talented and lovely trio they are!
